Lollapalooza

So for WID on Thursday I choose to ignore the inspiration, and did what was on my mind. I wrote about Lollapalooza, for those who don't know what this is I will explain. It is a massive music festival held every summer in Chicago's Grant Park.

Here is the list of artist, just to give you an idea. The Red Hot Chili Peppers / Jack White / Black Sabbath / The Black Keys / Florence + The Machine / At the Drive-In / Bassnectar / Avicii / The Shins / Justice / Passion Pit / Kaskade / The Weeknd / Sigur Ros / Bloc Party / Calvin Harris / Miike Snow / The Afghan Whigs / M83 / Franz Ferdinand / Frank Ocean / Nero / J. So that gives you an idea of the artist there, and there was a total of 270,000 attendees over three days. So now done explaining the festival with words, I would like to expand on my ideas using pictures and videos of my own experiences.

  1. I never knew what the Lollapalooza was. Now that I know, I would love to go there one day.

  2. I love how you started this with "I choose to ignore the inspiration, and did what was on my mind"…i tend to do that to most Writing into the Days..Sorry Lacy. Anyway, this Lollapalooza sounds like Warped Tour or Bamboozle…sounds really fun and I'd love to go if I could even if I only knew like 5 bands from that long list. Overall your blog seems really creative and unique. I like it.

  3. I was going to go to Lollapalooza this yea but then somthing came up and I was unable to go. Two of my best friends went and they told me it was awsome. I would have loved to go. I dont know who all they saw but they did have some crazy stories to tell me when they got back.

  4. I'm pretty jealous that you got to go to Lollapalooza. I like that you used the blog assignment to talk about something that interest you. I've found that it's much easier for me to talk about what's on my mind during our writing into the day time, rather than trying to find inspiration from something that may not be that big of a concern to myself at that moment. When I do this kind of writing, it seems to have more of a realness factor...anyway, nice blog :)

  5. That's really cool the biggest concert I've been to was Winter Jam and it is small compared to this concert. i have heard of it but never really understood it i always thought it had something to do with llamas.

  6. This is really cool Jeremy. I've always wanted to go to something like this (it's on my bucket list actually), but anyways I like how you added your own video and pictures and I am soo jealous you saw M83. I love that song :)

  7. That is so cool. I wish i could have gone. There are so many great bands playing there. I feel like i kinda get ripped off living in Greensboro NC (Home town) because very few big bands will come here. Charlotte on the other hand gets a lot, so i am excited to start seeing more of the bands that i love.

  8. You have a video and pictures, I like it already. Music is freedom, creative expression because splattering paint on a canvas isn't creative expression to me, it's dumb.

  9. This is totally amazing ! Caused me to do a little bit of extra research on LOLAPALOOZA. I know you've told me a little bit about it in the past but I'm glad that you blogged about it and allowed people to look into your world a little and into what inspires you.

  10. I'm sooo jealous you got to go! I was supposed to go to Bonnaroo this year, but it was on the same day as my graduation. But I like how you chose to write about something completely unrelated to the WID. I always find it difficult to think of something to write about.

  11. That is awesome! I wish I could have gone to this. What was your favorite part? I've been to warped tour a couple times, and it's the same sort of the just bigger.

  12. We saw RHCP when they were in town last spring. It was pretty fantastic. And we saw Jack White, in Whitestripes form years ago. I would have loved to see Franz Ferdinand. Nice band list and pics.
